Regional Health Initiatives

CHIOC has actively participated in various community forums as experts on the ACA repeal through the OC Health Access and Enrollment Task Force. In these forums, we share best practices and provide updates on federal and state policies to educate enrollment counselors and community members across Orange County. The Task Force is our primary regional initiative.

Orange County Health Access & Enrollment Task Force

The Orange County Health Access & Enrollment Task Force brings together enrollment counselors, promotoras, community health workers and care coordinators to serve as a forum to gather ideas, express concerns and create solutions for helping families’ access healthcare services.

In 1998, the task force began by focusing on services for children. Since then, it has grown from a group of 20 to a dynamic coalition of more than 400 individuals from 173 different nonprofits, serving to ensure access to health insurance for both children and adults across Orange County.

Covered OC

Initiated by CHI OC in 2014, Covered OC is a collaborative of service agencies, businesses and government representatives devoted to supporting healthcare access and coverage for all Orange County residents through Covered California. The group also provides support for local healthcare service providers in delivering outreach, education, advocacy, enrollment and retention services for individuals who may be uninsured or underinsured, or have limited income or understanding of the English language.
